Product Description The ThinkPad and Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter supplies power to your notebook and simultaneously recharges the system battery whenever it is plugged into a standard ac wall outlet or the dc outlets available in airplanes and automobiles. This adapter gives you the flexibility to use your ThinkPad or Lenovo Value Line notebook longer and in more places. It is Lenovo's thinnest power adapter yet, so it tucks easily into your carrying case for travel.Make this adapter the only one you take on the road. No need to carry a bag full of chargers when you can use the AC/DC Combo Adapter to power your notebook, cell phone, and PDA. An optional dual charging cable allows you to attach the adapter to both your notebook and a peripheral device simultaneously. Select from a range of optional peripheral charging tips compatible with most popular cell phones and other devices. and other devices.

Do not buy for more than $40 November 25, 2009 mtl222 (Chicago) I bought this slim charger over ebay. To my surprise, it is actually slightly heavier than the standard charger and is larger overall, albeit slimmer. The cord is also 1 to 2 feet shorter. Thus, with this charger you have a trade off of slimness for price, volume, weight, and cord length. I paid $80 for this adapter after shipping costs but believe it is worth under $40.
OK, but could certainly be better. November 19, 2009 J. Myer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this power cord for the simple reason that I travel alot and wanted something compact that would work on airplanes. This item does an adequate job at these two tasks. However, having to use a extra adapter between the cord and computer causes it to hang way to far off of the back of the laptop. You have to be very careful as it could be broken or knocked off very easily. The extra piece is also less reliable as I have several times had to fiddle with the cord to get a connection. One other problem is that the cord itself is too short for a lot of conference room or office applications. It always seems to come up 12 to 18 inches short of the power outlet.
At this point this power cord is left connected to my docking station in the office. For travel I simply carry the original cord and I bought a bigger battery for working on airplanes. The original cord works better and the size difference is minimal at best.
Unfortunately I can't say that I would recommend this product, especially at this price.
Good little charger November 12, 2009 T. J. Weaver (Austin, TX) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I received this charge, I was impressed at how thin it was. As everyone else mentions, to make this product as this as it is, the manufactures have made this wider than your average power brick. When using the charger on AC power, it gets really warm, and mine also emits a slightly audible buzzing sound. When in a noisy environment, it is unnoticeable, but when I am sitting by myself in an empty room, it is quite annoying. When using this adaptor on DC power, it does not get warm at all, and I can't tell if it still buzzes over the sound of my engine.
The one thing that I like about this design is how thich the lead cable is. Others dog on this fact but I love it. It is a stiffer cable than the stock one which leads me to believe that it will be harder for the cable to break right at the connection to the laptop adaptor like my old one did.
There are two things that I dislike about this charger: 1) The overall lenght of the cables is to short. My old broken adaptor is almost twice as long as this one. I find myself having to be very close to a power outlet and feel somewhat tethered. 2) When the proper tip is placed on the end of the universal lead, it makes this big bulky connector that has to plug into my laptop. It is almost 3 inches long before the cable can start to flex.
Hope this is helpful to someone, -TJ
I should have bought this a long time back October 4, 2009 ChessOak (Texas, United States) THe AC/DC adapter is so much more useful than the standard AC adapter that comes with the Lenovo laptops. I always need more than one adapter and when we decided to travel to Europe and I was faced with extended time in the plane, I bit the bullet and bought this adapter.
Not only can it handle AC voltages in the Europe (220V) and US (110V), but it can handle DC power through a cigarette light adapter (12v) and the DC jacks that some airline companies install on their seats (20v?). It can also power a variety of devices. I've not investigated the full extent of the multitude of add-on tips and the versatitlty of the optional Y-adapter to power two devices simultaneously, but it is all there.
Plug that goes into Laptop is way too long July 25, 2009 Mike S. (Chicago IL) The adapter works as advertised, but is VERY annoying. The Chinese engineers who designed this obviously had no idea how people use laptops.
The cord that plugs into the laptop has a large special plug, that plugs into a huge adapter (three are included) for your particular type of Thinkpad.
You end up with the power cord sticking straight out the back of the laptop about an inch and a half. Extremely annoying, and sooner or later the special plug on the power supply, the special adapter plug, or the power jack in the PC is going to break (there's a lot of sideways leverage with a plug this long).
It would be usable if it had a "right angle plug," but it doesn't - so it may technically be usable for a while but it's going to break, or break the actual laptop pretty quickly.
I'm sure Lenovo doesn't care, since they'll just charge you to fix the laptop.
